Introducing Muskox: Survival in the Arctic, Narrated by Daisy Head
Stay Wild Studio, the production company founded by Chris Schmid, presents Muskox: Survival in the Arctic — a powerful new feature-length documentary narrated by acclaimed British actress Daisy Head (The Gray House, Shadow and Bone, The Sandman).
For its debut, the film has been selected as a nominee at the Santiago Wild Film Festival 2026 (May 5–7, Centro Cultural La Moneda, Santiago, Chile) in two categories: Stories of Nature and The Beauty of Nature.
Expanding on the internationally recognized short Unwavering, Muskox: Survival in the Arctic ventures deeper into the heart of the Arctic—one of the planet’s most extreme environments. Filmed over several years, the documentary captures the timeless struggle of the musk oxen — rugged and majestic creatures that have endured since the Ice Age.
The film follows the herd through the brutal rhythms of the seasons: fierce autumn battles for dominance, the fragile hope of new life, relentless predator pursuits, and the merciless grip of winter. Through breathtaking cinematography and an evocative original score, Muskox: Survival in the Arctic explores survival and adaptation at the top of the world.
Narrated with subtle grace by Daisy Head, Muskox: Survival in the Arctic is both a tribute and a warning — a meditation on resilience, fragility, and the unseen forces threatening these ancient creatures in the far North. It invites viewers to look beyond the visible.
With Muskox: Survival in the Arctic, Chris Schmid crafts a cinematic experience driven by emotion, atmosphere, and mystery — far removed from traditional wildlife storytelling. The film is a powerful reflection on strength, legacy, and the invisible forces shaping the future of our planet’s most remote wild places.
Produced by Stay Wild Studio, Muskox: Survival in the Arctic is slated for release in 2026. The executive producers are Mélanie & Chris Schmid.
